Climate stories

In early March 2023 there were two cyclones hitting Vanuatu - Cyclone Judy and Cyclone Kevin. They caused a lot of damage in our house and garden. Especially for my family, our house has been blown away by the cyclones and we didn’t have a place to sleep and to cook our food.

In early March 2023 there were two cyclones hitting Vanuatu – Cyclone Judy and Cyclone Kevin. They caused a lot of damage in our house and garden. Especially for my family, our house has been blown away by the cyclones and we didn’t have a place to sleep and to cook our food. Our neighbours came and told us to go to shelter with them and we went and lived with them while waiting to find a house to go and settle in. It was a very sad time for me and my family but as time passed we started to recover by the help of the disaster committee with the help of NDMO.
