Climate stories

Ava’s story

  • Heatwave
  • Nature

During the 2019 fires many of my close friends and family had to be evacuated from their homes. I live surrounded by bush and received multiple alerts that I was going to have to abandon my home to seek shelter. Luckily my home was not effected however the national parks that make up the beautiful Sunshine Coast were devastated by the fires. Nature is resilient however my home is still recovering and I cannot stand by and continue to watch the Australian Government perpetuate and encourage the climate crises through their deliberate ignorance and refusal to enact change. Enough is enough.
