We got a council notice a few years back that our house is in a flood zone! How can that be? On a hill, in a flood zone? In March last year’s rain the house was almost flooded.

I’ve returned from Malaysia to Australia in 1985. In that time I’ve watched plants flowering time move from March to early January. We got a council notice a few years back that our house is in a flood zone!!! How can that be? On a hill, in a flood zone??? In March last year’s rain the house was almost flooded. Never before but now we must find solutions as it looks like it will probably worsen.
But I am lucky compared to small Pacific and Indian Island dwellers who have and are losing their houses, arable lands and fresh water supplies.
The rich nations must step up. STOP FOSSIL FUELS FOOLS. Pay for amelioration. Transition fossil based jobs to sustainable jobs. So much to do but DOABLE NOW, not later.

On 9/11/19 my property at Nymboida burnt from a terrible bush fire. I lost my home and shed along with most of my belongings I had collect in my 56 years on the planet at that time. Leading up to that time I experienced very hot weather conditions. Up to 47 degrees on my veranda. I’m now deeply traumatised by that experience. I have made a commitment not to ever fly again. When covid hit and the world slowed down the most polluted cities in the world’s air cleared up. We can stop climate change. We need strong caring people in positions of power to lead us there. Not be influenced by money and greed!
