The impacts of climate change have changed my whole life trajectory in an injusy and awful way. The impacts of climate change on extreme weather events and cost of living have meant I cannot always afford enough food, I limit my access to healthcare, I experience significant economic-anxiety that impacts my ability to engage in day to day activities. Very sadly, I will be unlikely to pursue having a family, there is no safe world to bring children into and I can’t afford/am not rich enough to provide the protection they would need. I love the environment, it is everything. We must protect it and take strong independent action now!

On top of general heatwaves, record breaking seasonal temperatures, floods, freak storms and the most disappointing ski season we have ever had, the biggest impact to our family is my 8year olds mental health. He sees the news and what is happening with the climate. He learns about changes and climate change at school and almost every night when the lights have been turned off he says ‘mum I’m worried, why is nobody doing anything about climate change?’ ‘Mum what will happen to us if this keeps changing this fast?’ ‘Mum what can we do it actually make a difference?’ At least once a week he cries in disparity. We haven’t put this worry and fear in him, he is smart and open to see what is happening in the world.
