Until honest and law-abiding efforts are made within the parliamentary system I continue to be NOT proud to be Australian.

I have recently completed a Grap Dip of Env Law at Melbourne University as I am continually dismayed at the Australian Governments lack of committment to the the principles of the Paris Agreement. I am equally disgusted at the clearing of native vegetation/habitat and the approval of govt led forest agreements that are causing unsalvageable harm to our Native forests. Combined with the lack of Indigenous Rights under FPIC (free prior and informed consent) under Article 19 of the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP 2007) the Australian government and it’s lack of action in accepting its responsibility to reverse the effects of its contribution to global emissions and to compensate rightly affected peoples is an international embarassment. Until honest and law-abiding efforts are made within the parliamentary system I continue to be NOT proud to be Australian.
