It keeps getting worse.
Garden Island Creek, TAS
It keeps getting worse. The polluted sea, rivers, land, sky, burn offs, mining, felling…….. It was all here for tourism for people to enjoy forests and oxygen with low impact accomodation and access. Instead I’m watching the tide rise, the shores washing up rubbish, algae growing on the rocks, jet trails, traffic and lots of pretty places turned into suburbia with MacMansion’s outdoing each other. I hope all these people are convinced enough to change their lifestyle. However we need to change the desire advertising and educate people that greed is not fair to the planet. Pollution needs to be dealt with more harshly and politicians should start leading an example not flying to meetings, conventions etc. Why was the computer invented, use the public platforms and video conferencing!
Permaculture, recycling, replanting and downsizing

I studied Construction Management with the intention of helping implement greener construction practices, meaning my studies had a huge focus on sustainability and what risks global warming poses to our crucial infrastructure. While I was at uni I worked in the “Large Loss” team for John’s Lyng Group, an insurance builder. It was 2020, at the time we were still rebuilding claims from bushfires, floods, and cyclones from 2, 3, 4 years prior when the black summer and floods hit the east coast. Our company had grown from 20 people to 50+ in the year prior to me starting because we were growing more and more snowed under with claims. We already lack the capacity to handle the natural disasters we’re currently facing. The governments arrogance and complacency on global warming is equal to murder in my eyes.
